Founded
in the 1920's by Elbert W. Allen. It was in the
early 1930's, Allen found a new partner in William
Edmonds. From there, the partnership of Allen-Edmonds
was born. Based in Belgium, Wisconsin Allen-Edmonds
was growing with the reputation of quality craftsmanship.
Not to mention a patented, long lasting, welted
and shank less design. Over the next 40 years,
Allen-Edmonds hopes to provide the Military with
shoes. In continuing the tradition of quality
and service, Allen-Edmonds still makes the finest,
long-lasting and comfortable shoes made in the
USA. In the 1970's, John Stollenwerk was hired
as the company's new sales representative in Europe.
In the 1980's, Stollenwerk bought the company.
Since then, Allen-Edmonds has grown rapidly.
There
are factories in Port Washington, Wisconsin and
Lewiston, Maine. Allen-Edmonds today still considers
making shoes in the USA an art form. At Allen-Edmonds,
we painstakingly craft every pair by hand in a
process that includes 212 different steps. No
detail is too small. Not a single stitch is overlooked.
Because that's what it takes to make the most
comfortable, longest-lasting shoes you'll ever
wear.
